GENERAL DENTISTRY
At Malvern Hills Dental Care we offer a full range of dental treatment. The aim of the practice is to provide high quality professional care in a friendly, relaxed environment. Prevention is key, with regular check-ups allowing us to diagnose and provide early intervention before problems occur. We offer both NHS and Private dentistry.
DENTAL HYGIENIST
Our aim is to encourage preventative care by helping you to understand how to maintain the health of your mouth. Hygiene visits consist of professional cleaning of the teeth to help prevent gum disease, alongside providing education on how to maintain good oral hygiene at home.
There are two main types of gum disease, Gingivitis and Periodontal Disease.
Gingivitis- Means inflammation of the gums. This is when the gums become very red and swollen and often bleed when brushed.
Periodontal disease- If gingivitis is untreated it can develop into periodontal disease. Periodontal disease affects the tissues and bone supporting the teeth. If the bone is affected teeth can become mobile and consequently result in the loss of teeth.
Regular hygiene and dental appointments are most important in preventing this
TOOTH WHITENING
At Malvern Hills Dental Care we provide home whitening kits that fit your mouth perfectly so that you can whiten your teeth in the comfort of your own home until you are completely satisfied with the result. The kits include trays which fit around your teeth and bleaching formulas which are inserted into them before inserting into the mouth.
At the first appointment impressions are taken to construct whitening trays. A second appointment is made to fit the trays and provide full instructions. The trays are generally worn overnight or for short periods during the day.
We also provide chairside whitening which involves using a higher strength gel to reduce the time taken for the procedure.
THERAPY DOGS
Therapy dogs have been around since 1976 and as a practice we would like to do more in looking after anxious and phobic patients, we felt our therapy dogs would be the perfect candidates to help our patients relax. Some of our patients find it calming to come over a bit earlier than their appointment time and spend some time with them. Sometimes Caesar and Nelly choose to stay at home so if you call ahead and request them to come in we will do our upmost to make sure they are there for you, They are both very gentle, kind and as with most dogs appreciate any attention they can get, why not pop round and say hello.
